Match the generator's engine-side interfaces
A documented generator configuration can establish an application reference for SA6D140E-2, but it does not identify every version of the engine. Compare the full model suffix and serial, rated or governed speed, governor, controls, cooling, flywheel housing and coupling against the existing set.
Ask which components are supplied with the engine assembly. An alternator, base frame, electrical panel and complete generator set should not be assumed from an engine listing. The new and reman options have different warranty periods, so check condition before choosing.
What to check before ordering
- Record the existing engine's SA6D140E-2 suffix and serial.
- Match set speed, governor, controls, coupling and cooling.
- Confirm whether any alternator, frame or electrical equipment is included.
